Candelabrum of bronze, with silver and gilt inlay, one of a pair, being an ornamental adaptation of the traditional Japanese crane on turtle candlestick, tsurukame shokudai, with two candlestick flowers instead of one and the turtle-base replaced by a small turtle on a lotus-pad. Early 20th century, Japan. D base 11.00 cm. H 38.50 cm. Acquired: Nice, France.
